Doodling on a Gelli print

This week I haven't felt the best, so I haven't done much in my studio. However, I have been able to sit down and doodle which if you know me at all, you know it's one of my favorite things to do. It's easy, fun and relaxing. It helps with stress and when I am done, I feel like I have done something creative. Above is a doodle on top of a gelli print. Gelli plate prints are probably another post, lol! Can I say "lol" in a blog post? Hmmm, I think I just did.
Anyway, I like to keep a stack of gelli prints handy so I have them available for using, however my crazy mind sees fit in the moment. Recently I have soooo enjoyed doodling on them. This one is done on top of a magazine page. I tried out my Glaze pens (made by Sakura) over it in spots and loved the result! I think the ability to see through the glaze is really fun and adds depth to the overall look. So, if you have some Glaze pens in your stash, try them out and see if you find the same. Happy doodling! :)

Welcome to my blog

He is at Work in Me

Today marks the beginning of my blogging experience -Yay!  Finally!! I've been wanting to do it for a while, so this is exciting. This blog will be a place to share my artful adventures, primarily in mixed media, but to also express myself in fine art, doodling, art journaling and photography.

Above is a piece I created at the beginning of this year. It is special to me because I had no idea what it would become when I made it. I grabbed this and that, and sewed and glued. I sprayed here and stenciled there, enjoying every minute of freedom in playing. What transpired was the idea that God uses all the pieces of our lives to create a complete and beautiful work of art in us. He takes the good and the ordinary and fashions them into something beautiful for His Glory. I am comforted that my Father is at work in me.

So welcome...  and thanks for stopping by to share this journey with me.
